The Healing Art of Massage
After many years of working professionally within the UK theatre industry as a costume designer Ari started experiencing ‘Burnout’ from over working and unhealthy lifestyle choices.
She realised that a fundamental change needed to occur for her own health and well-being. Ari took a journey of travelling for a month engaging in advancing her skills in Arabic belly dancing in Morocco and attending her first yoga retreat, Ari started feeling a new wave of life being breathed into her.
The journey continued and she received the wonderful opportunity to spend two weeks sailing on a yacht in Sweden with some of the most inspiring people she has encountered.
While onboard she reconnected to the healing art of massage, which she had trained in many years before but wasn’t ready to share with the world yet.
That was the turning point for life transformation and on returning home to Scotland started the journey by re-training in various massage therapies.
Ari has now been working professionally in the health and wellness industry as a bodywork therapist since 2016.
she has worked nationwide within clinics, spas, athletic/ fitness events, charitable organisations supporting mental health and corporate environments.
In 2019 her work took her worldwide with opportunities to work in the Cayman Islands which lead on to receiving her RYT 200 Hours in Hatha, Vinyasa, 30 Hours in Yin & Restorative Yoga styles at The Zen Den Yoga School in Florida.
From October 2020 Ari made the choice to spend time in Greece, Albania, and Mexico, where she founded Stellar Therapies to share body work healing, dance and yoga with the world.
She is trained in a multitude of treatment modalities and continues to update her skills and knowledge within the industry to deepen her understanding of how best to facilitate and support healing for her clients.
Her passion in life is being of service to people on their journey in optimum health and well-being.
Ari absolutely loves working with people and the body, health and wellness has become passion and a lifestyle. She feels honoured to assist clients on the path to wellness and holding space to facilitate healing within the mind, body, and spirit.
The Journey to Yoga & Movement
Since Ari Liakeas was a young girl dance and movement had always been part of her life, taking inspiration from her mother.
Ari has spent her life dancing through various cultural forms of movement, dance, and yoga.
Arabic dance was the style that fully resonated with her soul feeling inspired, uplifted, and empowered by the movements and the music.
The more she learned about this form of dance the more she realised the deep connections with the feminine goddess aspect of life, and how the movements could bring profound health and healing to women on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
Dance and yoga have offered Ari her own transformative path to healing trauma deeply embedded within the body and soul, and in 2019 she was offered the opportunity to go deeper and take a YTT 200 hours in Hatha, Yin and restorative yoga practices and continuing study through further trainings in Yoga and movement, so that she can share these practices people through community.
The integration of these practices brings a unique and authentic experience to her classes: a whole-hearted union of mind, body, and soul through yoga & movement.
She believes in holding and creating an inclusive space for people to share and connect. A safe environment to celebrate community, re-connect to the self, and to bring in joy and healing on all levels.
Had a treatment with Ari at her gorgeous new 1-1 retreat Casa-Cita and her work is absolutely magical she is experienced, professional and honestly what she’s done absolute wonders for my alignment and hip 12/10 would recommend
